Made in Derbyshire

Made in Derbyshire 2015 is a campaign to celebrate all that is “Made in Derbyshire”. Derbyshire has a rich history of creativity and innovation. It is home to the Derwent Valley Mills, the cradle of the Enlightenment and of the industrial revolution, which is the only World Heritage Site in the East Midlands. The Peak District National Park was the UK’s first National Park that paved the way for other National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty around the UK to be designated as public access for countryside users. Elvaston Castle was also the first Country Park to be opened in the UK and the Arboretum in Derby was the first publicly owned, landscaped, urban recreational park in England. Buxton Museum is celebrating Made in Derbyshire by showcasing the best of the museum’s collections.
